SUPRA has announced the release of the Maurizio Molin Women’s Footwear Collection. The collection consists of three SUPRA silhouettes; a Vaider, a Skytop, and a Wrap. They are all emblazoned with the art of Maurizio Molin.
Maurizio Molin is a Venetian based artist, designer, and painter who began his career at a very young age with a well-known Italian artisan who, coincidentally, created fine shoes. He has since gone on to work for a number of notable names in the fashion and action sports industries. Maurizio’s work has been recognized throughout the world, and he is perhaps best known for his dot and geometric pattern paintings, which live, as he says, “in the middle-ground between art and design.”
“I design and I paint,” Maurizio said, “and for me both are a creative expression. The best is when I have the opportunity to use my art on some great design or fashion products, like this project for SUPRA. The specific piece of art that I’ve made for this SUPRA collab is a blending of my POP colors with some fashion influences. We wanted to do something a little different than my usual geometric patterns and so for the first time I’ve used a snakeskin pattern.”
Maurizio Molin’s beautiful rainbow snakeskin pattern is printed on nylon and appears on the padded inner lining and on the side panels of this Skytop where it is complemented by grey nubuck and pink accents. The shoe rests on a pink vulcanized sole with white foxing.
The Vaider high top upper is enveloped in iridescent snakeskin embossed suede which is complemented by deep black suede and pink accents. Maurizio Molin’s printed nylon can be found lining the padded interior. It’s built on a black vulcanized sole with white foxing and pink pinstripes.
The graceful two-piece upper construction of the Wrap showcases the Maurizio Molin printed nylon in its entirety. It has black and pink accents and is built on a black vulcanized sole with white foxing.
The Maurizio Molin Women’s Footwear Collection is available at SUPRA retailers worldwide and suprafootwear.com .
